Sonho do Mar - restaurant review

Wine and Dine | March 26th, 2014

Sonho do Mar is a romantic hideaway located at the north end of Agonda Beach. The space is divided into cosy lounge areas that comfortably seat up to six people, thus offering a more intimate dining experience. Colourful silk parachutes from Mysore add to the stylish decor, ensuring Sonho do Mar is perfectly shaded during the day and transformed into a romantic setting at night.

The Food Head Chef Keshav is locally renowned for his excellent seafood and fish specialties. He has created an extensive and inspirational menu from his vast knowledge of Indian, Tibetan and Nepali cuisine, giving visitors an opportunity to sample some more unusual dishes as well as the more classic fare. Fish Kadai and Yam Salad are a must try, as well as the famous Special Wasabi King Prawns.

The People Behind It Sonho do Mar is run by the successful team Yadav from Nepal and Henny from Germany. They have worked together for the last seven years running and managing the popular Jardim a Mar. Their different worlds and lifestyles guarantee a fine combination of a traditional Asian atmosphere and western standards.

Recommended For located right on the white sandy beach of Agonda a getaway for an alternative and peace-loving crowd a romantic and cosy hideout open for breakfast, lunch and dinner *a creative menu with seafood and regional specialities
